Dynafit and Vibram develop new sole for trail-running

The new product, the Skyfit sole, is lightweight but able to offer high levels of grip in all kinds of conditions.
Dynafit and Vibram worked together to devise a mapping compound system for the Skyfit, a technique that divides the sole into three sections each with a different level of hardness, even though the same compound is used. The company's have said the sole was designed "with the claws of a puma" in mind.
The front end is reinforced, the contact surfaces for the metatarsals and the heel were specially designed to adapt to the contour of the terrain, enhancing stability and grip. The arch incorporates an anti-torsion feature and the lugs, almost 4.5 mm high, were designed to provide maximum traction without sacrificing grip or the sole's self-cleaning capability.
Dynafit has used the new sole in a trail-running shoe called Feline Superlight.
