Snowshoe success for Easton competitors
05/03/2012
Fresh snow made for soft conditions for racers.
Mitchell Kayson won first place among junior boys (ages 15-19), while Liam Meirow took first in the five-kilometre race. Eric Hartmark placed third and Nate Canton seventeenth in the senior 10-kilometre national championship race.
Snowshoe races are part of the Arctic Winter Games and the winter Special Olympics. However, they are not yet an Olympic event.
“Easton Mountain Products’ Vo2 Racing snowshoes felt incredibly light and durable. It felt like running and I have a big running background so it was natural,” said Liam Meirow afterwards.
The Vo2 snowshoes weigh only 590 grammes each and feature a direct connect mounting system, which Easton Mountain Products says helps deliver fast manouverability, extended comfort and better step-tracking.
