Red Dot Design award for Nordisk

16/03/2012
One of the winners at the 2012 Red Dot Design Award is Danish outdoor brand Nordisk for its Bering -3º sleeping bag.

Red Dot is an international product design prize awarded each year by the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen in Essen, Germany. It is open to designers in various fields of manufacturing.

According to Nordisk the
Bering -3º “wears its heart on the outside”, a reference to the importance in the design of the outside skin. It is composed of ultra-fine woven threads with a coating of microfine carbon particles. This enhances insulation, accumulates body heat and slows cooling from outside to inside.

Its padding consists of synthetic filling made from Advansa Thermo Dry Soft.

The sleeping bag will be available at specialist retailers from spring 2012.
