Taiwan-based fabric producer, Poly Spinning, which recently ventured into garment manufacturing, has launched its own brand of sportswear called ‘GFun’, featuring functional apparel.

The firm recently spent approximately $6.7 million on establishing a garment facility in northern Taiwan’s Taoyuan County during the third quarter of 2011.

The garment facility will manufacture sportwear for the new brand, which will include items like such as windbreakers, golf apparel, raincoats, snow jackets and leisure wear.

The company’s chairman, C.H. Tsai, said the firm proposes to expand its garment facility to eight production lines by the end of 2012 to cater to rising market demand.

Prior to this expansion, Poly Spinning produced fabrics and processed clothes that had UV resistance, breathability, sterility, windproof and anti-bacterial features. These were supplied to brands including adidas, Columbia, Nike, Puma, Helly Hansen, The North Face and Jack Wolfskin.
