Invista says new nylon salt unit confirms its commitment to fibres

Construction of the facility began earlier this year and Invista plans to start salt production by the end of 2012. Nylon salt is produced when hexamethylene diamine and adipic acid are combined with water in a reactor. The salt can then be placed in a reaction vessel for polymerisation to take place, forming nylon 6.6 fibres.
Invista said that the development at Rozenburg reflects its ongoing commitment to the European nylon 6.6 market and the
fibres segment in general.
