Research, development and marketing organisation Australian Wool Innovation (AWI) has taken its Campaign for Wool, a project aimed at encouraging designers and apparel manufacturers to use wool in their collections, to China.

At a press launch in Beijing on March 28,
Madam Peng Yanli, president of the China Wool Textile Association (CWTA), commented; “The Campaign for Wool in China will provide valuable opportunities for Chinese people to learn about the mastery of working with wool from international designers and artists. Cooperation with leading Chinese designers and artists will help to upgrade the Chinese wool industry. Chinese consumers will be happy to learn about the environmental, fashion and artistic attributes of wool.”

Part of the campaign will be an exhibition and pop-up store featuring high-end wool clothing; it will be located on Shanghai’s famous Bund.
