Production starts at new PTA plant in Portugal

Portuguese manufacturer of PTA (purified terephthalic acid) Artlant has announced the start of commercial production at a new plant at Sines in southern Portugal.

The company said the new factory has an installed capacity of 700,000 tonnes of PTA per year, which will be used mainly in the polyester industry.
