Between January 2004 and October 2005, he ran 26,000 kilometres latitudinally around the world, starting in London and running eastwards. He called this feat World Run I.
World Run II started in Norkapp in Norway in July 2008 and involves running north to south from one end of the earth to the other (in South Africa), crossing to the Americas and running “back up” from south to north, from Punta Arenas in Chile to St John’s in Newfoundland and Labrador in Canada. World Run II will cover a total distance of around 40,000 kilometres.
Currently on the home strait on the east coast of the United States, Mr Olsen is scheduled to put in a start guest appearance at a showroom event run by Danish footwear brand Ecco in New York on April 17. He has been wearing Ecco’s BIOM shoes for the duration of World Run II.
