New kit for England rugby sevens teams

England’s women’s and men’s rugby sevens teams will wear a new kit design for the final two tournaments of this year’s HSBC Sevens World Series. The tournaments take place in Glasgow on May 5 and 6 and in London on May 12 and 13.

Kit supplier Nike has designed a new sevens shirt, in traditional white for home matches and in a new purple colour-scheme for the away shirts. Each design includes eye-catching yellow stripes on the front and on the sleeves.

Women’s team captain Michaela Staniford said she thought the stripes added a touch of 1970s flair to the design, which is very much in keeping with the dynamic, vibrant and fun nature of the sevens form of rugby.

Canterbury will take over from Nike as kit supplier to England’s national rugby teams later this year.
