In December 2011, the companies held a meeting in Germany to start developing “an organisational proposal” and to develop detailed project plans for the roadmap. Since the start of 2012, they have carried out a consultation exercise with their own stakeholders and made it clear to their supply chain partners that they now need to source preparations that are free from alkylphenol ethoxylates (APEO), helping their suppliers identify alternatives.
In addition, the group of companies has selected partner factories in different locations with which it will carry out a benchmark study on the nine classes of chemicals that have previously caused harm to the environment.
