Based in Knaresborough in the north of England, PPSS will work with Safety Today, whose headquarters are in Ohio, as its exclusive licensed distributor in the US market of its protective clothing. One of its specialisms is cut-resistant clothing, which uses a proprietary fabric called Cut-Tex. The fabric gives a blade cut-resistance of level five, the highest possible, under standard ISO 13997:1999, plus the highest level of tear and abrasion resistance.
Safety Today was founded in 1946 and is one of the largest full-service safety equipment distributors in North America with a special focus on the glass, metalworking and automotive sectors.
On announcing the development, PPSS chief executive, Robert Kaiser, said: “There is no doubt in my mind; we have chosen the best possible partner for the distribution of our range of high-performance cut-resistant clothing.”
