Aktiesport to appear in Scapino stores
Netherlands-based sportswear companies Aktiesport and Scapino have joined forces in a bid to strengthen sales.
Starting from May, Aktiesport will open a number of shop-in-shops within Scapino stores. This number is expected to increase steadily until the end of 2013.
According to Scapino owner Macintosh Retail Group, shoppers are increasingly researching online before buying in-store. It hopes to encourage customers to perform both tasks under one roof by making its stores more interactive with better displays and online access provided via touch screen gadgets.
Scapino operates 211 stores in the Netherlands and 29 outlets in Belgium. Aktiesport, a subsidiary of Unlimited Sports Group, is the largest independent sports retailer in the Netherlands and has 150 stores in operation.
