Specialist safety science company UL (formerly Underwriters Laboratories) has acquired Magnus Textile Services, a textile testing and inspection facility based in Bangladesh.

Magnus provides textile performance testing and inspection services, including tests for dimensional stability, colour fastness, physical performance, construction and composition. UL intends to add chemical testing to the facility’s capabilities later this year.

“We’re thrilled to join one of the most recognised names in product assurance,” said Jess Magnussen, managing director of Magnus. “UL brings a breadth of services, a depth of expertise and a global platform that will benefit our people and our customers alike.”

Owned by Danish nationals, Magnus is a textile laboratory, quality and consulting centre in Dhaka offering expertise and consulting services to improve quality, production and economy for buyers and manufacturers of textiles and garments.
