ITM 2012 brings 50,000 textile delegates together
According to the organisers of ITM 2012, around 50,000 textile delegates came together at the most recent edition, which ran concurrently with Hightex 2012 and Yarn Fair from April 21-24.
The fairground comprised nine halls, covering 85,000 square-metres, and accommodated 1,132 exhibitors from 33 countries.
Spokesperson Ümit Vural said: "ITM 2012 not only hosted
local manufacturers but also important overseas suppliers. It is obvious that
there has been visitor flow from Middle East and the Balkans.
"The export figures of Turkey breaking a record every month since the beginning
of 2012 is running for other successes with the textile industry. As of the
export figure achieved as $12.6 billion for the first quarter of 2012, it is
not a surprise that the estimated export figure for the first four months realise
as $16 billion.
The share of the textile industry within the export
figures of the first quarter is around $4-5 billion and this is enough to prove
the importance of the textile industry for Turkey."
