First Dick’s running store to open
US-based sportswear retailer Dick’s Sporting Goods is to open its first specialty running store in Pittsburgh.
The True Runner store will be located in the Shadyside area and is expected to open before the end of the summer.
According to the company, the range of sportswear, footwear and equipment has been designed by runners for running enthusiasts.
In May, Dick’s sponsored the Pittsburgh marathon, which attracted 25,000 athletes.
President and CEO, Joe Schmidt, said: "We’re excited to announce our new retail model, True Runner, which will outfit runners with the best running apparel, footwear and equipment.
"In our continued efforts to explore new ways to serve athletes and build upon Dick’s Sporting Goods’ already deep commitment to the sport in Pittsburgh, we believe True Runner will provide a top-of-the-line experience to those who enjoy the sport."
