Blåkläder uses Cordura in performance work trousers

Swedish garment brand Blåkläder has teamed up with Invista’s Cordura brand team and Artistic Milliners to develop a new high-performance work trouser.

The Blåkläder X1500 Cordura Denim trouser is designed to provide protection and durability for tradespeople working in extreme conditions. The Cordura denim fabric has a 3x1 twill construction and weighs 375 gsm. It comprises 12% high-tenacity Invista T420 nylon 6,6 fibre and 88% cotton.

According to Invista, the fabric offers four times more abrasion resistance than 100% cotton denim as well as colour fastness and resistance to shrinkage and pilling.

Cindy McNaull, global Cordura brand and marketing director, said: "Based on this intimate blend of cotton and Invista’s T420 nylon 6,6 fibre, Cordura denim fabric retains the authentic look and feel of cotton denim, but with added abrasion resistance, and toughness."
