REI appoints three new board members

US outdoor gear and apparel co-operative REI has appointed three new members to its board: Beth Newlands Campbell, Stephen Lockhart and Gerry Lopez. Each will serve a three-year term.

Beth Newlands Campbell lives in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. She is the president of Hannaford Supermarkets, a retail group in northern New England that operates 181 stores in five states.  Hannaford is known for its commitment to healthy lifestyles, sustainability and volunteerism.

Stephen Lockhart is the regional vice-president and chief medical officer for Sutter Health’s East Bay region in California, an affiliate of one of the largest healthcare associations in the US. He is the board chair of NatureBridge, an organisation providing environmental science education to 40,000 young people annually in national parks, and a trustee with the National Parks Conservation Association.

Gerry Lopez lives in Kansas City, Missouri and is chief executive of AMC Entertainment, a company that runs more than 300 theatres in four countries.
