New global president at the Textile Institute
Peter Dinsdale has been appointed world president at The Textile Institute. He replaces Andreas Weber, who has held the post for two years.
Dr Dinsdale is a specialist in the fibre, textile and garment sectors, and is currently chairman of textile and apparel consultancy Trigon Diligences. He is also a visiting professor at the School of Materials at the University of Manchester, UK.
He previously served as principal industry specialist (textiles) at the World Bank/International Finance Corporation (IFC), having started his career at Courtaulds.
Helen Rowe has been named as chairman elect at The Textile Institute and will stand as chairman from next May.
Ms Rowe is acting head of department for the clothing design
and technology department at Manchester Metropolitan University.
