Industrial action hits Ahmedabad textile companies

Spinning companies in the region around the Indian city of Ahmedabad have reported strike action among their workers. Throughout June, more spinners appear to have been affected.

Asarwa Mills became the latest company to report industrial action on June 24. It said 150 workers from 200 in its spinning department failed to turn up for work without giving any notice. The copmany told local media that it had to assume its workers were taking part in industrial action.

Textile companies Arvind, Ankur Textile and Ashima Textile have all reported similar disruption.
