Water-repellent technology for outdoor gear from Clariant

Clariant has launched fluorine-free water repellent Arkophob FFR for the sportswear and outdoor gear markets.

According to the company, the new agent brings together “two previously unattainable benefits”: fluorine-free chemistry and long-lasting, high water repellence performance.

The chemicals brand claims Arkophob FFR offers an efficient alternative to conventional fluorocarbon-based repellency products.

It is also said to offer: a wash resistance of more than 20 washes, good resistance to abrasion and tear a soft touch and good breathability.
