At the end of ITMA ASIA + CITME in Shanghai, the French Textile Machinery Manufacturers Association (UCMTF) held a special meeting to talk about textile copycats.

According to the association, there is now increased support from other governments in cracking down on textile technology copiers. In China, for example, custodial sentences have been enforced and damages paid by copyright infringers.

"It is a global war," said UCMTF president Bruno Ameline. "We fight and will continue to fight all over the world because our strategy is based on research and development, on technology breakthroughs and on protecting our patents, brands or any other intellectual rights."
