DyStar and Tuscarora team up
Textile dye manufacturer DyStar and specialty yarns producer Tuscarora have teamed up to provide a range of new fibre, fashion and chemical solutions.
The first initiative the two firms have collaborated on is a coloured denim fabric.
The combination of Tuscarora’s ProTura Cotton, DyStar’s pre-reduced Indigo and Lava Chemicals and Dyes allows product developers to create a range of colour combinations in denim, with the option of adding heather, pin-striping and bi-colour effects.
According to the company, this cationic form of cotton
enables textile mills to reduce up to 50% of the chemicals, water and energy
usage in the dyeing process. Blending regular cotton with ProTura cotton offers
a fast, flexible and more sustainable manufacturing process.
