The latest edition of textile machinery exhibition ITMA ASIA + CITME welcomed record numbers of visitors and exhibitors. The show was held at Shanghai New International Expo Centre June 12-16.

The exhibition registered around 92,000 visitors from 94 countries and regions over the five days, up 12% compared with the 2010 show. More than 20% of visitors came from outside of China, with the majority of overseas visitors travelling from India, Japan, Indonesia, Iran and Pakistan.

The combined show attracted 1,283 exhibitors from 28 countries.

Stephen Combes, president of CEMATEX, which runs the show, said: “We are delighted with the response. The strong turnout of visitors to the show has demonstrated that buyers in the region still remain upbeat about the potential of the Asian textile market.”

The next ITMA ASIA + CITME will be held on June 16-20, 2014.
