Maserati expands sports footwear range

There are now 14 styles in the collection. These include mid-height MC Concept sneakers, created by combining “fashionable design with track-inspired touches”, Maserati has said, such as details in the back of the TPU and EVA sole that take their cue from the automotive brand’s GranTurismo sports car. They have an all-leather upper, which Maserati says ensures that the foot is kept at its natural temperature with side vents, another detail taken from the cars to increase breathability.
More dominant in the collection are a series of styles for men and women under the Tazio and Wilbur names. Entirely made in Italy, leather is the principal upper material in these too, a mix of suede and grain leather in the Wilbur, which the brand says “highlights the vintage style and its relationship with the racing world of the past”. The company’s trident logo appears on an original leather patch on the side.
In the Tazio, the upper is a combination of brushed leather, suede and “technical fabric”. Maserati told sportstexiles.com that this fabric is “polyamide with a weft designed to increase the breathability”.
