Victor unveils sustainable FR fabric
The Victor Group’s apparel and specialties division has introduced
Ecoshield, the latest addition to its collection of sustainable products.
According to the company, it is a new fire-resistant,
environmentally friendly fabric that will be used to make protective clothing
for individuals working in hazardous occupations and environments. It also meets
CGSB 155.20-2000 and HRC 2 – ATPV 9.6 cal/cm2 standards.
Created within a closed loop system, Ecoshield is the company’s
first fabric to contain post-consumer recycled aramid fabric waste. It collects
used coveralls, cleans them, strips the buttons and closures, cuts and shreds
the fabrics to fibre state and then uses this to make the FR fabric.
"Ecoshield represents a significant innovation,
revolutionizing the industry’s supply chain with its closed loop concept," said
Al Britton, director of sales and product development. "We are excited to be
able to provide an eco-friendly and safe fabric option for individuals working
in hazardous situations."
