Lululemon picks two textiles graduates for Vancouver internship

Chief product officer for Canadian yogawear brand Lululemon, Sheree Waterson, travelled to London at the end of July to offer three-month paid internships at her company’s headquarters in Vancouver to two UK-based textile graduates.

Manri Kishimoto, who studied at Central St Martins in London, and Sophie Reeves, from the University of Brighton, will travel to Canada later in the year to work alongside the Lululemon design team. The two recent graduates also won a cash prize of £1,000 each.

The awards came about as the result of a new collaboration between Lululemon and Texprint, a not-for-profit organisation that aims to nurture the talent of textile graduates from institutions in different parts of the UK. Texprint has selected 24 new textile designers to take part in its career development programme this year; Ms Kishimoto and Ms Reeves are two of them.
