Australian wool prices fall to lowest level in 18 months

Wool traders in Australia have reported a steep drop in prices when trading in the fibre began again in early August after a three-week winter break.

In Western Australia, prices fell by around 46 cents to reach levels under 1,000 cents a kilo for the first time in 18 months.

Traders have blamed a lack of demand for wool in Europe for the price-drop.
