Ryder Cup team to wear ProQuip golf apparel
Golfwear manufacturer ProQuip
is to outfit competitors at the 2014 European Ryder Cup Team at Gleneagles,
Scotland.
It will supply its 20th Ryder Cup waterproof suit when the
biennial match between Europe and the US returns to Scotland, in two years'
time.
The 2014 Ryder Cup will mark the 31st anniversary of
ProQuip's involvement in the Ryder Cup. The company was first selected to design
rain suits for the 1983 US team, captained by Jack Nicklaus, at the PGA
National Golf Club, Florida.
Since then, it has been selected as the preferred supplier
to six American teams and 12 European teams.
This includes a new high-performance rain suit designed
for José María Olazábal's European Team at Medinah Country Club, Chicago on
September 25-30.
ProQuip general manager Russell Brooks said: "ProQuip
has remained committed to developing its own, exclusively produced fabrics, and
golfers will soon be able to experience for themselves the technology in this year's
Ryder Cup team weatherwear, when the soft, quiet and super-breathable Trophy
Suit is launched in September."
