Polyester fibre manufacturer Indorama Ventures has announced the temporary closure of one of its factories in Thailand. The polyester staple fibre section of its plant in Rayong province has been closed after a fire broke out in the building on August 23.

An official statement from the company said the fire was put out after only 15 minutes, but the company has called a temporary halt to production there while it investigates the cause of the fire and carries out the necessary work to repair the damage caused.
