Mozambique is in talks with China to help with the introduction of GM cotton crops into the African country, according to Mozambican newspaper Correio da Manhã.

In November, a delegation from the Mozambique Cotton Institute (IAM) and the Mozambican Institute of Agricultural Research is due to travel to China to conclude negotiations, after which trials are scheduled in the Zambézia province.

The IAM expects Mozambique to earn $47.5 million from cotton exports in 2013, up from an estimated $43.2 million this year.
