“We are extremely pleased adidas will be with us for another four years,” said Essendon chief executive Ian Robson. “This pre-season we enter a new exciting chapter in the history of the Essendon Football Club. We’ll be relocating to our new high performance centre at Melbourne Airport and we’re delighted a world leader in adidas will be joining us on that journey. Not only will our players be training at a state-of-the-art facility, they’ll also be training and playing in the best athletic apparel and footwear available.”
Adidas Australia managing director, Greg Kerr, added: “We are delighted to be extending our partnership with the Essendon Football Club for another four years. We have embraced the club’s vision for the future and the new infrastructure and playing facilities in development will set the benchmark for elite athletes in Australia. We will continue to provide the best performing athletic footwear and apparel to the club’s players and coaching staff and together we will drive innovative concepts that deliver success.”
Collingwood’s new jerseys are being made by an Australian sports brand, Star Athletic, although the club has retained adidas as its official supplier of footwear.
