Finnish footwear manufacturer Pomar has received the highest score to date from a WL Gore audit carried out by Tore Strömfors of W L Gore Scandinavia and technician Uwe Fbel from Germany.

WL Gore owns the trademark for Gore-Tex, a waterproof, breathable fabric.

“We sell a lot of winter boots in Scandinavia and to Russia,” said Tarmo Kuningas, production manager at Pomar, “so we have to be sure that we make perfectly warm and waterproof boots of a high quality.”

Pomar uses Gore-Tex to make its sheep skin-lined winter boots waterproof. “These are designed for tough winters, and will keep feet warm and cosy all day,” added Kuningas.

Pomar is a Finnish brand specialising in high-grade leather footwear, with production based in Estonia.
