World champions say no to new Nike design

India’s national cricket team cricketers will not wear a new shirt designed by kit supplier Nike at the 2012 Twenty20 cricket World Cup, which starts in Sri Lanka on September 23.

Nike presented the new design at the start of September, with players from the Indian squad modelling the shirts. But the Indian cricket board has decided that the players will stick with the shirts they wore while winning the 2011 World Cup (in a longer version of the game) on home soil. The cricket board said it believed sticking with the previous design would bring the team luck.
