Italian firm takes Première Vision’s top prize

A jury presided over by the creative director of Lacoste named Italian family run fabric firm Ricciarini Tessile the overall winner of the Première Vision grand prize at the three-day trade show.

Felipe Oliveira Baptista presented the winners of the three sub-categories
Jackytex, which won the ‘handle’ prize; Ricciarini, which took the ‘innovation’ prize; and Japan’s Nikke, which won in the ‘imagination’ category – with their awards on the final day.

Ricciarini also won the grand jury prize, for new fabrics the judges said were “soft yet innovative”.

On collecting his awards, Ricciarini’s Manola Conti joked that next year he hoped to win three prizes.

The judges included Ettore Corti, head of fabric purchases and quality at Piazza Sempione in Italy; Franc Pairon, director of the postgraduate design programme at Institut français de la Mode; and Pascaline Wilhelm, Première Vision fashion director.
