Nilit will have cooling yarn on show in Shanghai

Israeli synthetic yarn producer Nilit will use the Intertextile 2012 exhibition in Shanghai as a platform for launching its Breeze yarn. Intertextile Shanghai takes place from October 22-25.

The company describes Breeze as “a revolutionary nylon 6.6 fibre that has been proven to cool wearers by almost one degree Celsius in comparison to fabrics knitted with standard fibres”. It says sports apparel, hosiery, workwear and shapewear are all good application areas for fabrics made from the yarn.

Its cooling effect comes from a special cross-section, the insertion of an inorganic additive in the polymer itself and a special texturing process. This combination gives fabrics a high level of ventilation capability as well as ultraviolet protective properties for the life of the garment.
