Polymer and fibre producer Invista is sponsoring an award for student clothing designers. It has named four finalists to take part in the conclusion of the competition at the Savoy in London on November 5.

Invista received 254 entries from designers in six continents and from these selected Derek Clarkson from the US, Esther Kruyer from the Netherlands and Charli Cohen and Shireeka Devlin from the UK to compete in the final.

The winning student will receive a prize of Lycra fibre product to use in a forthcoming collection, as well as a consultancy with Invista global production and marketing experts worth, the company says, tens of thousands of dollars.
