Technology provider Gerber will demonstrate its end-to-end solutions for design, nesting, cutting, ply lay-up and cut part inspection between November 7 and 9 at the IFAI Expo and JEC Americas shows at the Boston Convention Center.

“Gerber and Virtek’s software and hardware systems have helped thousands of customers around the world overcome their design and manufacturing challenges," said Dudley Fenn, director of industrial sales at Gerber. “Our products enable users to significantly improve material utilisation and cut part quality, maximise productivity and ensure accurate part measurement.”

Among its solutions on display will be: Virtek LaserEdge, which provides two- and three-dimensional laser templating and positioning that eliminates the need for physical templates; ComposiNest software automatically nests composite plies to achieve the greatest material yields; Virtek LaserKit helps workers assemble accurate kits by indicating the correct sequence of plies to be picked from the cutting table; and Virtek LaserQC, a non-contact rapid inspection system that uses lasers to capture more than 500 data points per second for thorough ply inspection.

“We work side by side with customers after installation to help them get the most out of the automation systems they purchase,” added Mr Fenn. “Our experts have worked with 25,000 customers, including more than 100 Fortune 500 companies, in the aerospace, composites and technical textiles industries in 130 countries. The best practices we have amassed help ensure our new and existing customers are as profitable as they can be.”
