Piave Maitex offers cotton fabric with added properties

Piave Maitex, an Italian textile manufacturer, has developed a moisture wicking cotton fabric suitable for the sportswear industry.

Originally showcased at lingerie fair Interfiliere in Paris, the company launched it to the sportswear market at the recent Performance Days fair in Germany as its properties are well suited to needs of sports apparel.

PM Cotton Evolution uses an advanced knitting technique and yarns that keep the skin dry, improving performance and comfort. The effect is completed by PM Hydro Fresh, an antibacterial, anti-odour treatment that helps keep the fabric dry and comfortable.

The company said: “We have created a new range of high performance fabrics through the application of cutting edge technologies, such as the use of infrared rays naturally emitted by the human body, in the treatment of skin elasticity, appearance and cellulite, with beneficial effects on thermoregulation and enhanced sport performances.”
