The orgranisers of the Smart Fabrics conference in San Francisco in April have announced that the event will open with a workshop specifically aimed at entrepreneurs who want to get into the clothing industry.

Raymond Thek from specialist legal firm Lowenstein Sandler will lead the workshop and will aim to help those considering, already launching or engaged in start-ups to increase their understanding of the industry.

Discussions will cover the anatomy of the clothing industry, sources of start-up ideas, sources of capital and common pitfalls.

The Smart Fabrics conference runs from April 17-19.
