Performance award for Amaterrace

10/12/2012
Japanese manufacturer Amaterrace won a Performance Award at the November 2012 Performance Days even in Munich for its Laminate PT 5303-60.

The product has a water column (hydrostatic head) of 20,000 mm together with breathability of 20,000 grammes per square-metre per 24 hours. The three-layer laminate weighs only 54 grammes per square-metre.

According to Amaterrace, the secret is in the design and in its use of the finest yarns. The outer layer material is woven from extremely fine polyamide fibres, only 10 denier and 7 denier thick, half as thick as the yarns used in women’s pantyhose. The backing is of sheer knitwear that has a 60 gauge. The overall design is durable, has a soft feel, and makes no rustling noise.
