Security measures help backpack win iF award

Hong Kong-based backpack brand Pacsafe was won an iF award for its Z-28 anti-theft urban backpack. The product won the award in the lifestyle and leisure category.

Hannover-based iF International Forum Design has been running the iF Product Design Award since 1954.

The Z-28 has new, proprietary anti-theft locking technology called eXomesh 360°. This allows users to attach and lock their bag around a secure fixture and also prevents would-be bag slashers from slashing vulnerable areas of the backpack. The Z-28 also comes with a quilted, removable laptop sleeve. It will be available in retail stores from January 2013.
