Newlife wins Business Environment Award

The award in the ‘best product’ category in the 2012 Impresa Ambiente (Business Environment) awards run by the Italian government has gone to Newlife for its range of polyester yarns made in Italy from recycled plastic bottles.

Now part of Sinterama Group’s Saluzzo Yarns, Newlife is unusual because all the bottles it uses to make its high-quality polyester yarns come from local recycling operations in Italy, which use only mechanical methods to recycle the bottles.

Minister for the environment, Corrado Clini, handed over the award at a special ceremony in Rome on December 13.

This success means Newlife can now take part in the European Business Awards for the Environment, sponsored by the European Commission and aimed at companies that increased their competitiveness through their green policies.
