Italian Outdoor Group joins EOCA

The Italian Outdoor Group (IOG) has become the first official trade partner of the European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA), a European outdoor industry initiative that supports conservation projects.

After a meeting at OutDoor in Friedrichshafen in July, the IOG presented the idea of getting involved with EOCA to its board this autumn. Keen to be more closely involved in conservation, yet as a small organisation, the IOG saw closer involvement with EOCA as an ideal partnership.

Gerardine Parisi, executive manager of the IOG said: “We are convinced that this is the right way forward for the group, and will also be encouraging as many of our members to get involved as possible.”

Tanya Bascombe, joint general manager of EOCA added: ”The more organisations that get involved, the more impact the outdoor industry can have in giving back to the environment. Working in partnership with the IOG will give us much greater visibility with the Italian market, outdoor companies and the Italian consumer, which is very exciting.”

The IOG has already started discussing ways of raising funds to support possible conservation projects in Italy.
