Record number of visitors at Performance Days
20/12/2012
The show took place over three days, up from the previous two, and a fourth hall was opened due to high demand, which gave exhibitors a bigger platform over which to show their innovations and products.
More than 881 visitors from 27 countries made the trip to Munich — 29% more than the previous edition of the fair.
Trade fair manager Stefanie Sacherow expressed her satisfaction: "Besides the many visitors from Germany, our records show 47% of the visitors were from 26 different countries — that is something that makes us very proud and it tells us that we have achieved international recognition. We even had visitors from as far away as the US, Canada, and Brazil."
A visitor survey revealed overall satisfaction averaged eight out of 10, with special praise going to the quality of the exhibitors and the good working climate, and the new QR codes associated with each fabric were particularly well received.
"The organisers are especially proud of the number of returning exhibitors (56%), those that have participated more than three times already and will be back again," added Ms Sacherow.
Talks were well attended and included a discussion on fluorocarbons in the finishing treatments for functional clothing, chaired by WSA technical editor Sophie Bramel. Summaries of the presentation topics are available online.
The next edition will be held April 24 and 25, 2013.
