04/01/2013
Industry minister, Débora Giorgi, has said that the Argentina’s clothing and textile industry was one of the biggest beneficiaries of special finance packages the government set up to celebrate the bicentennial of the country’s independence at the start of this decade.

In the course of 2012, textile and clothing firms took up government loans and grants with an estimated value of more than $80 million. As a result, Ms Giorgi said firms, including major sports brands Lacoste, adidas and Nike, were being encouraged to invest in Argentina and that a total of 1,600 new jobs in the sector had been created last year.
