Arc'teryx veteran to develop technical apparel line for FirstSpear

FirstSpear, a combat equipment manufacturer, is to expand its technical apparel line and has hired a former Arc'teryx researcher to develop the range.

The company has brought in Kate Paterson, who worked at the outdoor brand for 20 years, to serve as their apparel product line manager, to manage a new suite of “mission-specific” products using performance-enhancing materials.

Ms Paterson said: “FirstSpear's focus on the unique needs of the user is in alignment with my goals of developing and fielding the best products for our first responders and professional users."

Paterson joins FirstSpear's head of research and development Jon Laplume, who will be leading the technical material development process.

FirstSpear was launched in 2010 and employs 110 at its headquarters and production facility in Missouri, US.
