Polarmax introduces its lightest fabric

Longworth Industries, the company that manufactures Polarmax technical base layers, is launching its lightest range of fabrics at the US-based trade show Outdoor Retailer this month.

Travel Silk, at 2.8oz per square yard, as well two new lines, Micro H1 and Micro H2, are part of its new All Year Gear category - casual base layers for everyday wear.

“We are very proud of the products we are debuting at this winter’s shows,” said Bill Kendall, national sales director for Polarmax. “Travel Silk represents a lot of hard work and late nights spent by our team perfecting the balance between lightweight materials and performance."

The Micro H1 and Micro H2 are extensions of the fabric Polarmax debuted at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market last August, a breathable, soft material. Available in two weights, the Micro H1 features a layer of brushed polyester material and the Micro H2 features two layers. Both feature Polarmax’s proprietary Acclimate Dry moisture wicking and Acclimate Fresh anti-microbial treatments.

All new fabrics will be available in men’s and women’s tops and bottoms for autumn 2013.

Longworth Industries is based in North Carolina, US, and manufactures Polarmax and XGO technical base-layer apparel.
