Crewroom to supply Spartan Race events

Named after the fearless Ancient Greek warriors, Spartan Races take place all over the world. More than events will take place in 2013 in the Americas, Europe and Australia, with seven new events planned for the UK.
Designed for all ages and participants, from beginners to marathon runners, the races test competitors’ physical stamina and mental toughness with military-style courses complete with obstacles such as rope climbs, ramp-scaling, spear-throwing, barbed-wire mud crawls and ice-pit plunges. Seven events will take place in the UK this year.
Crewroom, launched 12 years ago by former international rower Kate Giles, will supply race apparel under the new arrangement, including 100,000 race shirts for competitors who manage to complete a Spartan challenge. Crewroom is supplying events in the UK and Canada. It will also supply a range of Spartan-related merchandise.
From 2013, Crewroom will also be supplying the kit for rowers from Oxford and Cambridge to wear in the famous Boat Race that takes place each year. The women’s race is on March 24 and the men’s race a week later.
