REI’s own brands announce Fall 2013 collections

Outdoor clothing and equipment co-operative REI has announced the details of the products that its own brands, Novara and REI, will include in their collections for autumn 2013.

In outerwear, the REI brand will have a new snow and wet-weather jacket and pants for men, Salix. The garments have an insulated layer of PrimaLoft Eco synthetic down for warmth, and a waterproof breathable shell for protection from the elements.

PrimaLoft Eco insulation also features in two new tops, the Nevis for women and the Spruce Run for men. Both styles include zip-off hood and arms and are “highly compressible and compatible”, the retail group said at the time of the launch, because they can be layered under a shell, stuffed in a pocket, or worn as a vest “from the trailhead to the summit”.

Urban apparel also features. REI’s new Rimrock collection “extends the look and feel of outdoor favourites into cross-over clothing for around town”, the group said. The collection includes lined pants, fleece sweaters and jackets.

In baselayers, the collection includes lightweight, mid-weight and heavyweight baselayer bottoms and tops for men and women. There is also an all-in-one Allstar Suit for men.
