Good start to financial year for Pakistan textile industry

31/01/2013
Figures from Pakistan show that textile-sector exports in the first quarter of the current financial year had a value of $3.6 billion. If the industry maintains this level of performance for the rest of the financial year (July-June), the figure for the full fiscal period will be higher than in previous years.

The figure for the whole of the 2011-2012 financial year was $12.5 billion, while the corresponding total for 2010-2011 was $13.8 billion. In 2009-2010, the textile sector brought export revenues of $10.3 billion into the Pakistan economy.
